Jaguar TCS Racing gaat komende zaterdag in Mexico City van start in het nieuwe ABB FIA Formule E Wereldkampioenschap 2024.
Mitch Evans, al jaren een vaste waarde voor Jaguar in de Formule E, krijgt gezelschap van een ervaren nieuwe teamgenoot, Nick Cassidy. Mitch en Nick hebben samen elf pole positions en vijftien overwinningen op hun naam staan en behaalden samen al 1.076 punten in het ABB FIA Formule E Wereldkampioenschap. Met deze formidabele staat van dienst als basis zal het duo keihard strijden voor zowel het rijders- als constructeurskampioenschap.
In de Mexico City E-Prix strijden 22 rijders van elf teams op het 2,63 kilometer lange Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Het parcours is hetzelfde als in seizoen 2023. Daarmee blijft het een van de snelste en meest technische circuits op de kalender. Opnieuw zullen tienduizenden fans op tribunes langs de baan plaatsnemen om de openingsrace van het Formule E-seizoen te aanschouwen en het toppunt van elektrisch racen mee te maken.
Jaguar TCS Racing racet nu voor de zesde keer in Mexico, op het circuit waar het Britse team eerder succes boekte. Mitch Evans behaalde hier in 2020 de overwinning. De startlichten gaan op groen voor de Mexico City E-Prix op zaterdag 13 januari 2024 om 14.00 uur lokale tijd (21.00 uur Nederlandse tijd).

Whilst we narrowly missed out it was a fantastic season for the team and demonstrated the performance of the Jaguar I-TYPE 6 that both our customer team and ourselves finished first and second in the World Championship with our most successful Formula E car to date.

Nick has settled into the team very well, with both him and Mitch showing great pace in Valencia. We will be looking, as everyone is, to start the season off at the Mexico City E-Prix in the best possible way with a strong-points finish but we never underestimate the competition in Formula E. The team have been working tirelessly on and off the track to ensure we are prepared for lights out on Saturday.”
